GUIDELINES FOR FILING

WEST VIRGINIA KIWANIS FOUNDATION GRANT APPLICATIONS

1. Grants by the West Virginia Kiwanis Foundation Board must conform to the Objects of Kiwanis International and to the Bylaws of the West Virginia Kiwanis Foundation.

2. Service projects which relate to the objects and programs of the West Virginia Kiwanis District will be accorded top priority by the West Virginia Kiwanis Foundation Board of trustees.

3. Funds will not be granted to the same club for two consecutive years.

4. A limit of $500 was set by the 2003 Board for a grant match; i.e. if the club's project expenditure is anticipated to be $1000, they may receive up to $500 in matching funds, if approved by the Board.

5. Grant requests are considered in July each year. Applications must be postmarked by July 15 each year. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Applications must be mailed to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Foundation as follows:

6. Notification of the West Virginia Kiwanis District Foundation Board's decisions will be mailed shortly after the Board meets at the annual Kiwanis District Convention in August.

7. Grant recipients must submit to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Foundation a final report of the project.

8. Grant applications that are not approved will not be reconsidered during the same funding cycle. Grant applications that are not approved must be resubmitted in their entirety.

9. A club must have paid its Anniversary Campaign contribution for the current year and the previous year to be considered for a grant request.

A grant request will not be considered if the club has not made its annual contribution in the current year and the previous year. Also consecutive awards back-to-back cannot be awarded to a club.
